Also known as a mass driver, gravity drive, or launch tube, this giant station can generate 656 Gs of force on any ship with an artificial mass block (with additional mass blocks granting additional power, like with any such gravity drive).
This is capable of accelerating even large ships, such as my build of the E:D Anaconda, to 600m/s in less than a second, far outstripping any native acceleration a ship like that could ever realistically have, no matter how many thrusters you tried packing onto it.
At 100m across, it is as big as can be made without incurring functional issues like unequal field strength. This is still big enough to accommodate almost any ship one would typically find in a survival world, and anything much larger probably could easily include its own gravity drive due to the sheer amount of space it has.
The gate comes with built-in indicator lights to show status and confirm correct alignment on approach, and runs entirely off of automatically-managed solar power, so does not have the massive uranium consumption most such structures do.
This automation also keeps the gate working, even in the face of Keen's attempts to break gravity-assist constructions.
However, to accomplish this, the gate requires one mod, to lower the power consumption priority of gravity generators, from 5/9 ("Utility") to 7/9 ("Gyro"). Without the mod, the programmable block automation script will end up cutting power to the entire station.
See the pages for the control script and mod for more information on those.
