General

The atmospheric harvester is a large-grid ship designed to rapidly grind down other ships and stations in planetary environments.

Features

This ship boasts a large cargo capacity to store huge quantities of components, and equally large vertical thrust capability to keep even a full load of such components aloft in gravities of up to 1.25g. Due to the nature of its task, it is also capable of some amount of both defence and offence, with omnidirectional gatling coverage to shoot down hostile drones, and limited shielding to withstand their fire without damage.

The underside of the ship features a large array of grinders attached to an extensible platform, allowing the rapid deconstruction of anything the ship hovers over without risk of self damage from the grinders or from collisions.

There are also multiple connectors, with two extensible underside connections configured for connecting with landing pads, and two upper ones to act as docks for smaller ships. Like my other large ships, it contains an antenna to maintain remote communications with the home base.

Mods

This ship strongly benefits from a couple of mods, though it can work with reduced capacity in vanilla. In particular, to maintain flight when completely full, in full-strength gravity, it needs some kind of more powerful atmospheric thruster; I used the Upgradeable Thrusters mod as I find that the most balanced way to achieve such an effect (especially compared to simple "thruster power x20" mods). With plain vanilla atmo thrusters, this ship can still fly, but when fully loaded its maximum G rating will be closer to 0.5g, meaning it will not be able to remain aloft on any world except Europa, as that is the only world with atmosphere below that limit. Should you wish to operate it on Mars or Earth, you will need to carefully monitor the cargo load, as more than 40-50% capacity will overwhelm its thrust.

Secondly, this ship is outfitted with Energy Shields; without these, the ship will take damage when subjected to drone fire, and it is not heavily armored enough to withstand a large amount of such fire before repairs become very expensive and function is significantly impeded.

Third, this ship has a few internal passages that are from the PassageIntersections mod, as they contain ladders to save jetpack fuel. Without this mod, you can simply use vanilla passages, but will have to use the jetpack to navigate them.

The final mod this ship benefits from, though much less dramatically, is the Twin Grinders mod, which significantly improves the grinder platform's speed and area of effect. Without this mod, vanilla grinders will work, though it will take longer to harvest the target.
